Sharon Regional Medical Center to host Men's Health Screening Event in Honor of Movember and Prostate Cancer Awareness
On Wednesday, November 30 at 5pm, Sharon Regional Medical Center will host a free Men’s Health Screening event at the Hermitage Diagnostic Center located at 2435 Garden Way in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Community members are invited to join Sharon Regional’s Urology team as well as other clinical staff for an insightful evening focused on men’s health, wellness, and non-surgical options for enlarged prostate. Free screenings including PSA’s, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) will be offered as well as educational materials, refreshments, and giveaways. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, other than skin cancer, in fact about 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.
“Prostate cancer can often be found early by testing for prostate-specific antigens, in a man’s blood” said Mohammad Al-Areef, MD, Urologist at Sharon Regional Medical Center. “Men should make an informed decision with their provider considering age, ethnicity, and family history to determine when they should be screened for prostate cancer” said Al-Areef.
Sharon Regional Medical Center is focused on the importance of community-based care and supporting preventative care that can increase positive health outcomes and boost public health. This free community event will promote men’s health and wellness and prostate cancer prevention. Learn more below:
