Sharon Regional Medical Center and Steward Medical Group are pleased to welcome two specialists to the Steward Health Care System.  The specialists include Randall Hofius, DO, general surgeon and Phillip Painley, DO, interventional cardiologist.  Both Drs. Hofius and Painley are on the medical staff of Sharon Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Hofius has practiced medicine for more than twenty years with his primary office located in New Castle, Pennsylvania.  His areas of interest include specialized training on the da Vinci robot used primarily for hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and colon surgery. This advanced technology will soon be available at Sharon Regional.  Dr. Hofius attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri and completed his residency in general surgery at the Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  In addition, Dr. Hofius worked as an emergency room physician in several hospitals in Ohio.  He is accepting new patients at his office located at 217 N. Jefferson Street in New Castle.  Dr. Hofius will also be seeing patients at the Hubbard Diagnostic and Specialty Center located at 880 W. Dr. Painley joined the practice of Steward Medical Group Cardiology Specialists that includes; Drs. Michael Burley, Ronnie Mignella, Brandon Mikolich, J. Ronald Mikolich, Nicola Nicoloff, James Ryan, and Sabeeh Siddiqui.  Dr. Painley has practiced in Butler, Lawrence, and Venango counties in western Pennsylvania.   He attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his internal medicine residency at Frankford Hospitals also in Philadelphia.  In addition, Dr. Painley completed both his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mill, New Jersey.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology.  He also serves as an associate professor of medicine for Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania.
