Sharon Regional Medical Center announces the September health education and wellness calendar of events that are free and open to the public.
“Health Watch” Health Education hour
Sharon Regional Medical Center introduces “Health Watch” where you can tune in to hear local physicians discuss health topics that affect you and your family.
The free community health education program is scheduled on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM on 790 WPIC radio. The next program will be on Tuesday, September 26.
Health Watch is brought to you by Sharon Regional, a Steward family hospital and the leading health care provider in the region.
When Diet and Exercise Aren’t Enough – Free weight loss informational seminars are now scheduled at 3 convenient locations: Featuring Sharon Regional’s Sheetal Nijhawan, M.D., Fellowship trained, Bariatric Surgeon.
Select from three locations to attend a free educational session to learn more about the Bariatric Surgery Program at Sharon Regional, led by board certified bariatric surgeon Sheetal Nijhawan, M.D. Sessions include information on obesity, a review of surgical weight loss options including benefits and risks, Body Mass Index, along with other information to assist participants in making an informed decision about surgical weight loss treatments.

Diabetes Support Group – Presented to the general public by Joanna Malencia, retired RN, in conjunction with The Diabetes Center at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Thursday, September 14th from 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM at the Senior Center located at 220 North Buhl Farm Drive. Free for anyone to attend whether you’ve just been diagnosed with diabetes or you’ve had it for some time. Joanna is a retired registered nurse from Sharon Regional who has type 1 diabetes and she has made it her mission to help those fighting the same battles. Come join Joanna and Sharon Regional Medical Center to gain access to the support you deserve and the get the questions you have answered. Sharon Regional Prepared Childbirth Classes
September 7th, 14th, and 21st from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the Diagnostic & Imaging Center located at 2435 Garden Way in Hermitage. Join the experienced staff from the Women’s Center at Sharon Regional to help prepare for your childbirth experience. The 5-week preparation program covers breathing and relaxation, the role of the support person, the cesarean birth experience and a tour of the Women’s Care Center. Wednesday, September 13th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the Diagnostic & Imaging Center located at 2435 Garden Way in Hermitage.
