Sharon Regional Senior Circle Announces Events and Programs for September 2016

- Beginners Tai Chi
September 6, 13, 20, 27 from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., at the Sharon Regional School of Nursing Morrison Hall. Tai Chi is a form of 'meditation in motion' slow rhythmic meditative movement designed to help find peace and calm. It is an effective means to decrease stress and anxiety, as well as increase balance, flexibility, fitness and core muscles. Tai chi can be performed in a standing or seated position. Loose fitting clothes and comfortable supportive shoes are recommended. - Strength for Seniors
September 12, 19, 26 from 4:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m., at the Diagnostic & Imaging Center 2435 Garden Way Hermitage. This 45 minute class will be based around strength and resistance training to help strengthen muscles and bones, provide relief from arthritis pain, improve ROM, control weight and glucose levels, and can even help with mood and sleep cycles. The class will use resistive equipment either a resistance band or light set of dumbbells (2-3lbs). There will be a limited number available so if you have a set of your own please bring to class. The class will incorporate stretching both as a warm up and cool down with resistive training and light cardiovascular training in between. Loose fitting clothes and comfortable supportive shoes are recommended. - Zen Art Class
Tuesday, September 13 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., at Sharon Regional Medical Center Dining Conference Room 2. Learn about the different techniques of zen art. Zen art is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.
