Sharon Regional recognizes School of Radiography graduating class of 2017

Sharon Regional Medical Center today announced the graduation of students from the Sharon Regional Medical Center School of Radiography. Graduating students include: Beth Ann DeSantis, Lakin Haris, Hayley Burns, Christina Ondich, Logan Rager, and Adrian Reeher. Logan Rager was this year’s recipient of the award for Overall Academic and Clinical Excellence. Out of the six students graduating, two have accepted full-time positions within Sharon Regional’s Medical Imaging department. A commencement ceremony was held on July 28th, 2017 in Sharon Regional’s School of Nursing Morrison Hall.

The Sharon Regional School of Radiography offers a 24-month accredited program, and begins a new class every August. Students obtain the needed clinical experience through this program under the supervision of a Radiologist and registered technologists. Through a combination of classroom and clinical instructions, students are able to acquire expertise in the field or radiography. Those that complete the requirements for graduation and certification have a number of different opportunities. They have the ability to accept a position as a registered staff technologist in a hospital, clinical or doctor’s office, or continue their education in advanced imaging modalities or pursue a career in management, education or sales.

The School of Radiology at Sharon Regional Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). JRCERT is dedicated to excellence in education and to the quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs in radiation and imaging sciences. JRCERT is recognized by the United States Department of Education to accredit educational programs in radiography and radiation therapy. The JRCERT awards accreditation to programs demonstrating substantial compliance with these standards.
